January 1940 in Bosanski Petrovac, Bosnia

Education:
University of Zagreb, Faculty of Architecture, 1958

Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, BA 1963

Post-graduate specialist course for 3 years under the famous Professor Riko Debenjak, 1963-1965

1973 received an M.A. in Graphic Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana

Between 1967 and 1972 Berber won as many as 15 Yugoslav and International awards.

1960 Preseren Prize for his graphic series of "Bosnian Memories" given by the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana.

1961 Mladina magazine's Mlada Pota Award for his drawing series "Bosnian Memories"
